We wandered around on the first day and happened upon the ruins of The Forum. Almost immediately thereafter it rained like hell and we all got soaked.

The sun triumphed over the rain clouds. According to a taxi driver, Rome was being hit by a "tropical tempest" just prior to, and during the beginning of our stay.

Ruins of The Forum. I must admit, I am not a scholar on Roman history and I only briefly glanced at my "Rome" guide book. So I'm not sure what this was. The only "Forum" I'm familiar is The Forum Shops in Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

Colisseum right after the rain storm and the sun came out.

Rainbow over the Forum ruins. I've seen several rainbows in Ireland on this trip, but the first one I caught on camera was in Rome. In Ireland there is a leprechaun and a pot of gold at the end of each rainbow...in Italy, there is a guy named Mario with a free pizza.
